Adopt

To fill out an application, click ADOPTION APPLICATION

If you are interested in adopting one of the dogs through Little Dog Rescue of North Texas, we have a two step process. The first step is to fill out the Adoption Application. Once we receive the applications, a volunteer will review each application to determine which dog is being applied for and if the applicant meets the criteria for that specific dog. Once these applications are reviewed, a volunteer will contact you, usually via email, to set up a visit with the dog being applied for. **Multiple visits for the same dog will more than likely be scheduled.** These visits may be scheduled in your home or in the home where the dog it being fostered. Please make sure everyone that will live in the home with the dog will be available for this visit. Please go to our Dogs page to view available dogs.

If you are not contacted within 2 weeks of applying for a specific dog, it is likely that you were not selected for that particular dog. Please do not call the rescue asking when you will be contacted. We get dozens of great applications each day. We have to review each application carefully and make decisions based on what we feel is the best home for each dog. That does not mean you are disqualified from adopting a future dog with our organization, it just means you were not the right match for that specific dog.

To fill out a contract after you have been approved, click ADOPTION CONTRACT

Once the foster or a representative from Little Dog Rescue of North Texas has determined that you are a suitable fit for the dog being applied for, the next step is to submit the Adoption Contract (see below). Upon receipt of the adoption contract, you will be contacted to schedule a time for delivery or pick up of the dog you have been approved for and during that delivery a payment will be collected via check or PayPal for the adoption fee. Adoption fees do vary on the age of the dog. Puppies require more vetting typically than older dogs. Adoption fees are paid via check.
